The typical wedding lasts approximately 25 to 30 minutes but can be
condensed or expanded depending on the wishes of the couple.  It is
important to remember that the wedding is your wedding so be as
creative as you wish.  Along with changing the format of the wedding, a
couple can add poetry, statements of commitment, readings and symbolic
actions.  Couples may wish to have family members or friends take an
active role in parts of the ceremony.  Many couples also find it meaningful
to write their own personal vows.

Here is a typical wedding format:
  • Call to begin
  • Purpose of marriage
  • Declaration of family and friends
  • Betrothal
  • The exchange of vows
  • The ring exchange
  • Pronouncement of marriage
  • Signing of the register and licence
  • Closing words
  • Presentation of the newly married couple
